Research Interests
My PhD position is part of the SNF funded project hat will combine measurements, modelling and machine learning to improve N2O accounting for sustainable agricultural development in sub-Saharan Africa.

The project aims to conduct the first online measurements of N2O fluxes and isotopic composition from agricultural soils in the north Rift of Kenya (Uasin Gishu) using automated chambers coupled to a preconcentration-laser spectroscopy (TREX-QCLAS) system. I will learn to use the TREX-QCLAS in the Sustainable Agroecosystems (SAE) laboratory at ETHZ, and acquire parts needed for the full coupled chamber set up as required. Additionally I will be involved in the field campaign at the Eschikon site run by the SAE group and subsequently the deployment in Eldoret, Kenya.

I am employed at the SDSC and work under the supervision of Prof. Fernando Perez-Cruz and Prof. Johan Six.
