Research Interests

I have worked on the gaseous emissions of grazing systems that are fully based on locally produced forage. The main focus has been the quantification of the field-scale N2O and NH3 exchange fluxes of two pastures and the quantitative contribution of the dung and urine patches to the field emissions. Each pasture in the experiment setting was grazed by two different herds of dairy cows differing in the energy to protein balance of the diet (expecting different gaseous emissions). The emissions were quantified using micrometeorological techniques (Eddy-Covariance) and fast chamber methods.

I have been employed at the Agroscope agricultural research institute at Reckenholz Zürich. Johan Six was the supervising professor for ETH Zürich.
