Research Interests
I have been working on tropical crop production systems since my BSc thesis on yam (Dioscorea spp.) in Côte d’Ivoire in 2008. Since 2011, I have been employed at the Research Institute of Organic Agriculture (FiBL) where I am studying the comparative agronomic, economic and ecological performance of organic vs. conventional production systems in India (cotton-based systems) and Bolivia (cocoa systems). In 2015, I started a PhD project in Ghana entitled “Transdisciplinary systems research to develop a novel holistic concept for reducing the spread and impact of cocoa swollen shoot virus disease in West Africa (TransdisCSSVD)”, the project was supervised at ETH Zurich by Prof. Johan Six.
